If you had to own an American car...

What would you get? I seen in Josh's FWD thread that there is alot of love for European and Japanese cars. Plus i've seen the hate for American cars in other post on this forum. I'm just wondering what American car or truck you'd pick, since most people on here don't like them.

    Rules of thread
    1. No super cars, Like Z06 Corvettes,Vipers,GT40's, ect...
    2. Can include trucks,SUV's,Muscle cars,FWD,AWD,RWD.....
    3. Must be made by a manufacturer based here in the USA, like GM,Ford,Mopar. Not Subaru,Toyota,BMW,ect.etc....
    4. Only pick 2
    5. These picks are not your favorite cars, only what you'd like to have to drive.
    6. Can be modified.
    7. Money is no object.

This is very hard for me. Since i love American cars and own 3 of them, 96 Firebird Formula, 72 Vega GT, and a 65 Corvair Monza.

    My picks
    GMC Syclone

Pontiac GTO, the new ones. LS2 and a 6 speed. Good stuff. Also a chopped, channeled, patina Ford Model A Sedan.

1953 chevy corvette...the very first year with the blue flame 235 inline 6 and triple side draft carbs.

and my very favorite car EVER...1937 hudson terraplane

i've had my fair share of american cars though. 500hp 1970.5 camaro in high school(1/4 mile in 11.87@122mph). a pair of 1951 chevys, 1942 gmc flatbed dually, 1965 all original pontiac bonneville, and im currently building a 1972 comet destined to run 10s (hopefully drop into the 9s)in the 1320.

The current stable, minus the 2005 Hemi-equipped Durango:

Of course, if I were to pick any American car, it would be a 1969-1/2 Convertible Trans Am, with the 4-speed. They made 8 of them, 4 with auto and 4 with manuals, supposedly only 7 accounted for to this day....

i like the syclone also. best truck i ever rode in was a late 80s s10 with a TPI 350 and a 5spd in it. that would be my next choice.
