Who in here has built a megasquirt unit?

I bought the kit - but don't have time to build it. How long does it take to complete? Is there anyone I can pay to build mine? I'm worried that since I'll have to built it in short spurts I'll forget what I'm doing - my cats will run off with pieces, whatever.

If anyone wants to make some cash I'll pay someone to build mine for me.

    Otherwise, tips would be appreciated.

Took me around 30 min to solder it up, and another 10 to solder up the megastim unit.

It all depends on how well the person can solder, which it seems many really suck at it :-p

      30 minutes?

The mega manual quotes like 8 hours. Which board/chip are you running?

It took me a weekend. If you didnt think you had the time to build it... why didnt you get a prebuilt one?

If you do it step by step and make sure your cats dont like eating resistors, you should be fine.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

Because I didn't know I wouldn't have the time! lol I bought it like 6 months ago - and i'm not sure I've even taken it out of the box.

anyone interested in $100 dollars to build it for me?

MSII on a 3.0 board - with stim and relay. I'm thinking I may quit being a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and just go for it. I'll have a look at it tonight.

At one point I was so worried about messing it up that I went to fry's and built a bunch of solder kits. They all worked nicely - and I did the ipod jack mod to my stock radio just fine - but I'll be the first to admit that I have very shaky hands.

That would be cool if I decide not to have a go at it. Problem #1 is I don't have adequate workspace. I'm about to build a work bench in the garage though - and the cats won't be in there.

it's not that hard. the most difficult part is the proper selection of jumpers, but it's already been done before - I can give you pics of my board if it helps.

ah- well it wouldn't be that much different. are you triggering off the distributor or are you installing a VR sensor? this is for an M10 I'm assuming..

It's an m10. I'll be running edis 4 and the TPS from a late e30 auto. Alot of e30 parts actualy - e30 318i alternator, intake manifold, bypass pipe, cylinder head, fuel rail - m20b25 throttly body.

I can solder the board for you if you haven't found anybody yet as long as it comes with the needed components and layout .. You can see some of the stuff I've built here, do mostly audio stuff (amplifiers etc)
