    Those damn women drivers!

It definately appears totaled. Repairing that damage is costly.....and the with your car being a carbrio only makes it worse (due to structural concerns since your car lacks a steel roof). Have your insurance company total it, but provide whatever paperwork you can to justify its value (i.e. how the front is "revamped"). Then you could buy it back and part it out to make some additional funds.

Only downside to the parting out option is that you will need a place to store that car as you steadily strip it for what its worth and then there's dealing with discarding the chassis afterwards. If you can make it happen, then go for it.

Thanks for all the information guys. I'll see if I can buy it back and part it out to the forum. I don't know how to pull a motor or tranny and have no clue on how to go about shipping them. I'll see if any of my friends can/know, if they know how I'll buy it back.

So I got an estimate today from the only bodyshop I'll go to. They do great work at a reasonable $44 body per hour, $50 Paint per hour, and $80 mechanical per hour Here it is.

I'm almost positive they will total it, if not I will make them. I don't want to drive a severly damaged car. After the insurance company totals the car, how do I make them pay the correct amount of money? These cars DO NOT sell for blue book value, and that's what they're gonna want to give me. :( I was told to give them advertisements of the same car, but E30 Cabrios are very few around here. Rarely black and rarely on sale. I want my next one to be black also, and I think it is only fair they pay me for the car that dumb whore hit. So I did a nation wide Autotrader search for a Black 325i Convertible 1987-1993 (93 was the last E30 bodystyle Cabrio wthe E36 cabrio wasnt released yet, the E36 Cabrio was released in 94). I only found 13.

      Highest price: $11500
      Lowest price: $3900
      Average price: $6132

Then I searched Nationwide again on Autotrader for a 1987-1993 Black 325ic as some people are dumb and see an imaginary "c" after the letter "i." I found 15 this time...

      Highest price: $11500
      Lowest price: $2800
      Average price: $6881

      The two averages...
      $6132 + $6881 = $13,013 / 2 = $6506.5

My car is in good condition and it was custom made vinyl seats. I have a feeling they'll take value off for the vinyl even though the seats are custom and all E30 Cabrios came with leather as a standard feature except the M-Techs... I was thinking telling them I refuse to sit or wear leather and they should also pay me money to have my next E30 Cabrio seats converted to vinyl. It is only fair they replace my car with the same one right? Now, how do I make them pay me alot of money? Any strategy or advice?

      Thanks!

i guess it depends on your ins. company. my friend got a whole lot for his 90 vert. if i remember correctly, he said about 8000. this was about 3 years ago though. all it had was lowering susp. 17" wheels, muffler and chip, which he removed from the car before they took it away and totalled it.
