I think almost all of you are missing the point.

He is not trying to run his car solely on hydrogen. by creating the H thru the process of electrolysis, he is then mixing it with the air intake. Hydrogen burns cleaner and more powerful than oxygen when mixed with gas. Gas and Oxygen combust and create CO2. By mixing Hydrogen in with the Oxygen in the intake it burns cleaner and more powerfull while creating water/steam. Because he is needing less gas to make a cleaner burn, your car will have to run lean (injecting less gasoline - giving you better fuel economy)

The only catch is you have to regulate your ecu because your o2 sensor will be telling your ecu it needs more gasoline. The o2 sensor will see that there is more oxygen being burned off and less co2, (running lean) so your ecu will compensate by injecting more fuel, giving you poor fuel economy.

You need to manage your air/fuel mixture along with your Hydrogen. If you can calculate how much hydrogen is being produced from your unit, then you can set it up better.

Umm..... Why are you resurrecting a 1.5 year old thread to say that they are "missing the point"?????

        So sad, noobie, so sad.

He is a spammer trying to push his HHO hydrogen BS on every E30 forum he can find.

as a mechanical engineering student i find stuff like this interesting.. i'm hoping to do something for my senior project.

at least this one makes simple sense. if it sounds like magic: it probably won't work. :)

                  check this thread on m42club.

But to make a long story short, it does work, just not as much as people think it does. It boost fuel economy from at least 20% to 40%. Pretty much uses the vacuum of a motor to get the gas from each unit, it is not injected or whatever.

the reason it works is HHO is a catalyst to the combustion of gasoline. So the gas itself isnt adding much power itself, but really just maximizing the effeciency of the motor, and therefore increasing gas milage.

I worked at a shop which installed these units,

Most people argue, and are very doubtful, it's just everyone is arguing about the wrong thing. The electrolysis doesn't create much extra energy, just maximizes engine effeciency.

P.S when we installed these, we gauranteed 20% better gas mileage

I remember reading something about this guy. He developed a motor to run off water & he powered a dune buggy with it to show the technology could work.

Not sure if it's internet BS or not, but the story goes he was invited by some automaker bigwigs on a cruise to talk about his work & he never made it back to shore. I believe his website says his brother has continued his work, albeit in private since he doesn't want to go 'missing'.
