For better contrast, a MotoGP bike from 2006:

    340lb/240bhp = 1.42lb/bhp = 1411.76bhp/ton

    240bhp/0.99L = 242.4bhp/L

To make a 1988 325 have the same power to weight ratio as a Honda RC211V from '06, you'd need 1947bhp. Awesome, now I have a goal in life.

Put Valentino Rossi on the back of it.

Yeah, I stopped... at least it was all in the same vein and helps illustrate how slow our cars are. :)

                    now:

I think Stu's car is a bit faster than mine :p
If it snows tonight as expected I'd kill to have your car. I'll be going nowhere! (Where you goin?! Nowhere!)

Not sure on the E30's weight as I've never weighed it, stock body sans A/C...

                        2800lbs/215hp =13.02lbs/hp

                        215hp/2.3L = 93.47hp/L

Weight based on? we need to have an established standard. Vin stamp weight or?

HP based on what type of Chassis dyno?

Weight based on certified scale. Mitch.M can back up my cars weight. As for HP dynos blow. 1/4 and 1/8th mile tell the real tale.

Since mine is determined by me choosing my class in NASA....I ran GTS2 last year in a very much under-optimized car. Here's what it was:

2705lbs/169RWHP (weight is with driver): 16.00lbs/RWHP
                                169RWHP/2.3l: 73.48RWHP/litre

Now if I stay in GTS2 and add the power I'm likely to add it should be more like:

2650lbs/182RWHP (again, weight with driver): 14.5lbs/RWHP
                                182RWHP/2.3l: 79.13RWHP/litre

Maybe not so exciting on paper but the car has other things to help address it's lack of exciting paper numbers. ; )

                                Cheers.
