tread life is vary dependant on driver. A person might wear through a set of tires quickly, get pissed, get a new set, unconsciously drive easier on the new set, and say "XXX tires loast much longer!"

Well. I'm hoping these tires last longer, because I'm pretty set on these wheels (hopefully) and don't plan to change anytime soon. Plus, for autocross/driving school when they come about, I'll use stockies. So they won't get eaten up like that.

The RE750's are better in every possible way from everything I've read, and the treadwear rating doesn't lie. I'll be ordering a set for my RX's.
News to me, but I'm sure you'd know.

If someone hasn't already posted, here is a Tirerack comparison:

Maybe its because i dont know much about tires, but is there a reason why you arent considering kumho ECSTAs at all?

They seemed to do pretty well in the comparison rscheiring posted

General consensus is that kumhos are cheap tires that suck, are shaped like eggs, and suck. :P

                what he said.

The numbers and general thought on them differ greatly. I wouldn't usually use think they suck on other's words, but I'd rather go with brands I have enjoyed before. Both Bridgestone and Yokohoma has satsified me before, more so Bridgestone actually.

Actually, I'm enjoying my RE730's on stock 'weaves for the moment. I'd like to say the tread will probably last ~5K more, if that. Then I would probably throw down for RE750s for my 15". Unless, another deal comes around like Chris had for $250 for 1K used ES100s. I wish I jumped on that! But I had 12 tires stacked to the ceiling in my garage, and my folks would freak.

That's only the 712 series. The MX's are excellent tires. The KU19 in that test still doesn't come in our sizes though.

I have the Kuhmo MX in 215/50-17 and they work very well so far and I like them much better than the ES100's I had as they are quieter and stickier than the Yok's.
