i have no idea what the market is like in socal but where im at you can get clean ETA for 1500 or less. I got my 87 325(e) for 1200 with no rust and only 123k miles. Just today me and my brother went and looked at an 85 325es that my bro is getting for 1400 with 163000 miles on it and new paint.

any year, as long as it doesnt have big ugly ass U.S. bumpers, and as long as it doesnt have a ETA motor and auto trans. in it.- but all of those things, as well as everything can be fixed on an e30.

Personally I like the plastic bumper cars no matter what year. The air bag and be removed with a new steering wheel. But I will take any e30 over the newer cars.

Don't airbag cars have different steering columns and stuff though? Think there might be little snags if you decide to swap in an e36/z3 steering rack.
