The adaptive suspension is also extremely expensive to repair if yours leaks, shocks are a few grand a pop. Ours also had some severe oil leaks, but those were easy enough to fix. Expect a good M5 to run around $15k with higher miles, the good ones are often more like $25k. Euro 3.8-liter cars are worth almost $40k in the US if they are really nice. We only got the 3.6.
Although if you toss some Dinan goodies on the 3.6 you can get it at base 3.8 Performance fairly easily.

I've been halfheartedly looking for an E34 M5 to replace my E39. I've found a few nice ones and they're all $12k+. If you want to see one in your area here's a link to one I would check out if I lived closer. Lots of pics and videos for your viewing pleasure. It's a '93 also which makes it even more rare.

Also check this one out. It's a beautiful car and has been impeccably maintained. He wants $16,400 for it.

good lord that second one is beautiful. there was a cool article in one of the British car mags recently where they let e34 m5 owners drive the newest m5 (e60?) and all of them said they preferred there e34's. it was sweet. There were a couple guys who owned tourings too. I am of the opinion that an e34 M5 touring is among the coolest cars ever.

          $20 says it's a 525i with an M badge...

And on a completely unrelated note: James, your car gives me wood!

The ad clearly states that it is an M5 clone.
