Hey guys, this is my first time joining a BMW forum, and I think I'm gonna like it here. I have belonged to probably over 10 car forums... Hondas, 240sx, G20s, Miatas, Escort GTs, and even turbo Dodges.
I'm 24 and I am on my 9th car so far. It's a 2001 Miata, and it's hella fun to drive. Don't worry, I won't be getting rid of it. It's my daily driver and autocrosser. I've got some adjustable shocks, stiffer sways, and some Azenis for the track.
Anyways, I've always wanted an E30. A friend of mine built a twin-turbo setup on his 1987 325is. That thing was wicked. It wasn't even tuned, and it was still awesome.
Recently I came across a 1989 325i sedan, 5-speed. It's at a local auction at a tow yard where a friend of mine works. They sell the cars when people don't pay their bill after just a few weeks. It only has 104k miles, and the interior and body are in awesome shape. It could use a repaint though. Anyways, I am goingto the auction on monday, so I thought I'd pop on here and get to learnin'!
I only have one question, and i could probably use the search function, but i was hoping I could get one free pass (don't worry, it's an easy question).... Is it possible this 325i has LSD, or did that only come on the 325is? If so, is there an easy way I could detect that before buying it?
Anyways, I really hope I get the car. I have always wanted an E30. I am sure most of you will agree, it's one of those cars where "newer models" aren't necessarily better. There's just something about its dimensions... its simple yet sporting contours... that has stood the test of time.
