    Call to the Stealership

I am installing cross hair in my ellipsoids and of course, while taking of the adjusters, I broke half the plastic sockets (part number 63 12 1 378 369)
I had seen a member mention on here that they were something like $.35 a piece so I called and wanted to get like 6-8 of them.
Well, let me tell you that the price is not exactly $.35 a piece but more like $1.90 a piece

Well, I guess I am going to look around for a few because 2 bucks for one is a but much (it becomes more of a principle than anything else at this point)

Now I know why I never buy anything there.

By any chance, if anybody has a few hanging around, I'll take them

Try a different dealer, some just wont budge on the 1st price on the screen others will give the better price.

Is it really worth the time/effort just to not pay $2.00??

Its matrix pricing. Theres cost, retail, then what we rape you for. $.35 may be list, but its not what youre going to pay. Call around all you want, but on a cheap part like that, I personaly nickle and dime the shit out of you. Unless you have an E30.... But if you get my counterpart, he doesnt care, he doesnt like BMWs.

And I just checked, those figures someone gave you, are incorrect. Our cost is $1.16 per piece. We can rape a walk in customer for as much as $6.65 each (or more if youre being a little bitch, and I dont like you lol), and list is $1.90.
Cry all you want, but I can assure you the counterman wont lose any sleep over you not making us $.80 per. Go waste 2 hours of your time going to a junk yard to save some cash.

Wow, you are going to spend a good hour and wait a week to save $13. I guess your time isn't worth much...

So instead of making the dealership look bad, you made yourself look like a cheap ass, lol. If you were to come to me crying like a girl, youd be paying $6 a pop. Because I know you wont get them anywhere else, besides a junk yard. Which are probably all dry and cracking anyhow lol.

Your best bet is to be cool to the parts guys at the dealership. Because believe it or not, if youre not a douchebag, shits usually pretty affordable. Especially if youre recognized as a guy who knows what he needs, doesnt TRY to return shit, and is cool to deal with. Those who are assholes, know it alls, or act like they have too much money to care or treat you with respect, are the ones who get their parts marked up "accordingly".

                  Keep that in mind.

Wow guys, thanks for "some" useful advice....
My point is not that I want to be a cheap ass because in all honesty I have 2 complete sets of smilies for e34 sitting here that I could take the sockets from (and probably will do until I have a buddy that has some to spare)
My point was that 2 bucks for such a things is just ridiculous and now I understand the true meaning of the name "stealership"
I took my car once to the dealership to do the alignment and they did the worst job ever so I guess I still have that in my mind.

                        Is the dealer close by?

Do they stock all sorts of basic stuff that you might need quickly?

Will they order even the smallest washer for you and get it in quickly?

Do they have a decent looking building? Ample parking?

You are ordering a part for a 20 year old car from a business that is use to selling $1k to $50k items every day. What do you expect? A fucking Walmart full of nothing but e30 parts?

I couldn't even afford the dealer's electric bill each month - and I bet you couldn't either.

                        Stop whining...
