you can get the conti belt as a kit with the tensioner for around $35-40.

FWIW, I bought a standard 32mm long wrench at Sears and it fit to do my fan. It was something like $28, but it doubles as a home defense weapon so it was worth it.

Remember that the fan is REVERSE THREADED! So righty loosey, lefty tigthy.

And yea, definitely do your timing belt yourself (with help) if you can. It's a huge learning experience.
