the big brown truck brought me presents

:D finally this stuff showed up. there are some issues, most of which can be attributed to horrible packaging, although there isn't really an easy way to ship this stuff. in any event:

looks like the PO was running some very wide tires...

Not sure how you can bend a spring like this... strut tube looks straight

included rear trailing arms and half shafts (which will probably be replaced...

Who would swap 5 lugs just to use an OE wheel? 8) Looks awesome J.

        yeah... i'm pretty psyched.

as for wheels, i had originally been planning on ACS type III's however they only come in 18x8.5, so that's pretty much OOTFQ. 17 is as big as I want to go, and i doubt 8.5" wide wheels would fit without some serious mods... Other options in the works are ACS type II's, SSR GT1's and Alpina style wheels..

thx TJ... the shipment got pretty messed up, so I'm gonna pull it all apart tonight and inspect it very thoroughly. The shipper knows that it may have been messed up, and insured it with UPS for lots of money. So we're both covered if there is in fact anything wrong.

Anyone ever replaced the dust shields behind the rotors? ... they're all messed up. the half shafts look like they got rocked pretty hard. what's the likely hood that it could have messed up the wheel bearing? ... the front studs were sticking out the bottom of the box it came in, do you think it could have messed up the front wheel bearing? ... of course these things worry me, as M3 wheel bearings are notoriously expensive (yes i know about the 5 series bearings 8) ). I just don't know how burly wheel bearings are when it comes to weird forces they're not used to dealing with...

hmm.. anyone need a front set of m3 shocks? free. you pay shipping ;)

J, my buddy is selling a BRAND NEW set of 4 brake dust covers, I don't know if the non-M ones are the same as M3 ones though. They are at less than $40 right now.

Lookin good! I'm planning on snagging a 5-lug M3 suspension myself, but here's the wheel I'm gonna run:

But I say try to get either the M Parallels or the ACS Type IIs. I've seen a few M3s around here with em and they look gorgeous.

Thanks Josh! Yeah, they're RD RGQ 17x8", but I only have two of em now. I'm still looking for two more, but I'm in no rush since I plan for to finish my project next year.

don't bother trying to get brake dust shields...
I took mine off, they are annoying to work around and don't do much good other than push brake dust towards the wheel face...
                        good luck with the conversion!

but on the rear the junction between brake line and brake pipe is welded to the dust shield. did you relocate yours?
