Here's a write up in this thread, http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...168#post996168

I believe they are all the same exept the M3's. They aren't that much new. I got a PPG one for $114.00 I also put it in myself, it's not to hard to do.

$114 sounds awesome. Nothing like new glass. Mine is SO pitted and scratched it's scary.

I got it at a somewhat local glass/mirror place in Oakland,MD. I called there and another place in town. The one in Oakland had a cheaper price and was a brand name (PPG) plus they got the glass there the next day for me to pick up.

OEM is always nice, but right now I just want one that isn't pitted, chipped, scratched and cracked 16" through the middle of it :p

I allways thought european glass was softer then what was made in the USA. They don't "bake" it as long so it tends to get more chips and pits in it.

Isn't the M3 glass the same, just with a different seal? Or is it that you can swap M3 glass/seal into a non-M?

I don't know, you ever had a Ford? those things have horrible windshields - mine may have been pitted, but it held up to huge rock chips for years without cracking (until this winter). One little rock chip on a Ford windshield = death.

no, yes. the M3 windshield is bonded to the frame and serves as structural support.
