    F@#^ing UPS

I bought a transmission from a guy in Colorado, UPS broke it during shipment. It was insured. I called them, they sent a truck over to pick it up. The trans was sent back to the UPS store in Colorado Springs where the shipment originated from.

They've had it since the 7th. I haven't heard a thing. I called UPS today, they told me that they cant tell me anything about the claim...it's confidential. huh??? It's my claim, how the hell is it confidential? I was told that it is not my claim, the UPS store is filing the claim and that UPS store will be paid for the damage. Huh? (again).

I really dont understand how these guys think.

The claim is of the shipper, not the consignee.

If UPS broke the transmission, it probably was not packed well enough and will be denied anyway.

I had a set of rear leather seats that I shipped UPS, they took them out of the box and ran them over with the forklift a couple of times. The guy I sent them to went to try to find his parts in the warehouse, found the seat folded up in a corner.

I got a trans shipped from a E30tech member last week. He wrapped it saran wrap, and it wasn't even on a pallet. It was shipped DHL. One of the ears to mount shifter is broke and one of the ears for the trans mount is broken. People are retarded sometimes.

Not sure why people ever think that it's their claim when they are the recipient of a damaged package. The shipping contract is between the shipping company and the person who's shipping the package.

Your only hope is that the shipper is stand-up about it and refunds your $$$. UPS loves to use the "improper packaging" loophole to get out of paying for damages. If the package was insured, the shipper might have a slightly better chance at getting anything back from a damage claim.
