I am 100% against that idea. This would only degrade the e30 name and raise the prices of the originals up. I am all for making a new BMW with the spirit of the e30 though - light weight, cheap and great looks.

My biggest bitches about BMW now is the pudgy cars and the lack of dipsticks.

if they brough out new e30's with newer motors that were higher hp, it would be great. i wouldnt want them to bring the stock e30's back. but a newer improved version would be good.

my only problem with bmw is that while every car company is aiming for performance new cars, bmw is aiming for economical luxury cars.

The current biggest issue BMW is facing is the plummeting dollar/euro exchange rate. it's making it very hard for BMW to make $ here, and we're a huge market for them.

If this is for a business class I would look into the exchange rate issue coming up. European car prices will be rising due to our poor dollar. Prices are still relative to the dollars a few years ago as orders for these cars can go back thta far.

Well... how about the good side of BMW's operations?
Bmw has a specific assembly line setup that allows a personal order to be changed as late as six days before it goes into production. This flexibility is bar none one of the best in the industry. If you want to find the article it was in Time/Newsweek last quarter of last year.

Tyler: Your problem has an easy solution: build them stateside. Bmw is doing it with many of their big sellers and they are expanding even more. Huge european groups like EADS are actively participating in similar solutions.

i got an A in operations management.. one of three in the class.. heh. I <3 forecasting.
