Saw The 1 Series @ The Dealership On Saturday...

I stopped by one of the local dealerships on Saturday to pick up a few miscellaneous items to replace while I install my new transmission in the E39 528iT on Sunday.

Lo and behold, they had just unloaded two 135i's and one 128i from the truck.

One was red (don't remember the name of the red) with "lemon" leather interior, one was black with black interior...

Very neat cars. You'll have to excuse the iPhone photos...

Not really a big fan. The rear quarter window looks like a Hyundai or something, the ass end just doesn't blend well. Maybe it's better in person?

I'm liking the 135i. Comparable size to an e30?

              Needs a drop.

And it needs to be a hatch.

Thanks for the pics, Ben. They look better in your pics than in the tarted up pre-release photos and show pictures. I really like that contrasting leather in the 135, but then I'm a contrasting interior type of guy. :)

All the people who say they don't like it (not just here but everywhere) will probably change their tune once some start getting drops, nice wheels and a few other tasteful mods.

Oh, and that 135 is fast! For those who haven't seen the Fifth Gear episode where they pit one against the Porsche Cayman, you need to DL it and check it out.

Maybe I will buy one of these little cars. I would need to do the sedan, however. I too wish the hatch was coming to America.

                  I like the pics.

I rode in a 120d on the Autobahn Monday or Tuesday and it was a four door hatch, the backseat was decently comfortable and got up and around fine. They are nice small cars whereas the 3 has grown to E34 size.

N54, the same turbo engine that's in the 335. Fast, and sounds brilliant...I can't wait until they start breaking so I can take one for a spin. :D

I just read an article on the 1 series convertible in european car. They say the "135i will come with the twin-turbo inline six with 300hp and peak torque from as low as 1400 rpm." Sounds pretty awesome to me. They give a 0-62 time of 5.3 sec, but thats for the 128i convert. which is heavier.
