But the avg '89 E30 is hardly a $5-7k car. Hell most of the cars on this forum aren't worth that.

they are a little arrogant, but one of their points ended up being true - resale value. how many 20 year old "normal" cars do you know of that still sell for ~$5000 in decent shape? (and no, I don't mean your rust bucket 318i automatic models).
