I need to drop 4 inches in 3 days, help me..

First off i want to say this is for a e36.

Heres the deal, I'm in Orange county and I'm going to VIR for 6 months for work.

My boss said if i can fit my M3 in the top section of our race trailer we can take it and i wont have to drive and put 2500 miles on it.

My car is 98 M3 4 sedan all stock with 17" contours.

The top of the trailer is 54" from the floor to the roof.

    Can i make it fit?

TJ, whats the height of your car from the floor since yours is slammed.

you could let air out of your tires for 1-2" maybe more if you let them go totally flat

smallest rims you can fit over the brakes, and air out of the tires.

I'm worried if i do that, when its strapped down it may bottom out. The trailer rides very well so i dont think it will happen but that's another idea i may try too.

15" stock e36 basketweaves don't fit over the rear brakes, forget about the fronts. Only some 16"s clear, like contour replicas from tirerack. In back all 16"s would fit I think, i have some 16" ugly e46 7 spokes on an e36 m3 at the moment just to roll it around.

Oh another thing you could do, compress the spring, use some shackles or if you're ballsy an assload of heavy duty hose clamps, to hold the springs compressed and lower it that way. How it is going to get up the ramps dumped is a good question though. The rears you could do the same thing or just pull the springs and put some wood or something in there just so the shocks don't bottom out.

Ah bummer but thanks for the heads up on the wheel sizes.

i could slam it on the lift gate, raise the car then roll it in the trailer haha

Take the brakes completely off. I mean, zip tie the calipers under the car somewhere, take the rotors off, everything. Then you can fit some 14's or something with TINY tires aired down.

It's an M3, and it's a sweet road trip. Just drive. Enjoy the time on the road...

As much as i would like enjoy the drive, it wouldnt happen until the end of May and thats a big maybe.

I'm going to Phoenix, AZ on monday. Ill be there for 2-3 weeks then I'm going to VIR. Then im leaving the May 9th to Mosport. In between then ill be setting up our race cars, then we have a race, then i have to setup the cars again then go to another race.

My boss doesnt want me to take the time to drive across the country since we will have a heavy work load.

This plus the weight in the car is starting to sound like a winner.

I would try the dollies out first since all you will have to do is throw the wheels back on it and drive it off the ramp instead of putting brakes etc back on.
