    ? about Dynomax SuperTurbo

So, I went to a muffler shop today and introduced myself to the owner, one of my co-workers has serviced this guy's shop for like 4 years. he's good people and all and has helped out some of my other co-workers before.

I proceeded to ask about a muffler and catalyc conv. combo, I told him that I wasn't looking for something super pricey, since I'm still runnin on the stock M20. I also told him that I wasn't looking for a loud muffler sound like MagnaFlow or fucking Flowmaster. I know, I know it's the cheapest shit around, then he went on to advice me on a set up from Dynomax called SuperTurbo, this will include slanted chrome tips, muffler, 2.5in copper pipping, catalyc-conv coming all the way from where the intake manifolds meets; price is $ 300 dollars including labor. has anyone heard anything about the Dynomax SuperTurbo set up before? is this even worse than the 2 others mentined before, give me your imput before I make a mistake please, it is much appreciated.

I bought a Super Turbo for like $35 and had it welded onto the back of my old 84 318i. Honestly I loved the sound on the M10 (if anyone is really desperate, I can dig up some vids from my old computer), but I've never heard it on an M20.

Well, the Dynomax ST is a $35 muffler by itself. It is loud as shit.

That's a pretty reasonable price for a 2 into 1 exhaust from the headers back. Just make sure he makes it easy to remove and replace the Dynomax. It's a cheap muffler that likes to rust out.

Copper pipping? That's going to be one expensive exhaust :p...

Someone told me upgrading from stock exhaust wouldn't really benefit performance wise on a stock M20, someone tell me he's wrong. He said the same about intake too

                      Super Turbo

I have had a Super Turbo muffler on my e30 M3 and my VW Corrado VR6 and I loved it the sound is subliminally low enough to set off alarms when revved but not droning through the rpm range. I just got the "New" Aero Turbine 3030 because I wanted to go 3" anticipating my turbo upgrade/2.4L rebuild and it was ungodly loud and raspy w/o a resonator... but the unrestricted flow and design seemed to give me more power = less gas mileage due to leadfoot syndrome though:(

Damn, copper piping to the intake manifold? That's nuts.

You should have come to me about this before you came on here. You went and made a mistake in your post and now all hell is gonna break loose with all the OG's on here.

To everyone reading, he knows what he is talking about, he just got his words mixed up.

And to answer your question Edwin, super turbo is like a knock off flowmaster. Its sounds almost exactly the same but at less than half the price. Now the whole price isn't half bad but you have to make sure that you get a quality cat along with the whole set up. it sounds like a nice set up for sound though.

I had mine done for $270. That included a Magnaflow high flow cat, and 2.5 in. piping from a Y-pipe at the EXHAUST MANIFOLD through the cat to a muffler in the back.

                              Any questions, just ask broski.
