    TCD 325i and m50 325i Drag Results

Well, guess what? The stock clutch cannot handle 290rwhp. I smoked the clutch really badly on the first run and was left to experiment the rest of the night. In the end it ran the following on the last run of the night. Sadly I was banging the rev limiter in 3rd gear near the finish line and lost a few mph. I am a SPEC Stage 3 clutch and one decent 60ft time away from the 12s.

    60' 2.235
    330 5.745
    1/8 8.674
    mph 83.59
    1/4 13.261
    mph 107.95

It only took Greg a few times to figure out how to drive his 325is. He did very well considering it was the very first time out to a dragstrip. He ran a 15.33 @ 91mph. It proves that the m50 is a good upgrade to the m20.

? I would think an E30M50 would be quicker.

Todd. haha. Your "sleeper" would definately appreciate some more upgrades to handle that sick turbo setup. Really, I hope to see you in the 12s soon. Sick, just sick. It's amazing what that snail can do to a stock engine. Great job. Also am waiting to see what 16/17psi does for your IC setup.

I think that's pretty good considering it was greg's first time and he said he had lots of wheel hop.

Never offically drag raced in my life. Kinda fun abusive as all hell, and limited by tire size 205-50-15, I should have some 225-50-15's on next time. But the weight on my car was 2690lbs with 1/2 tank.

Good times fellas. What pressure plate do you plan to run Todd?

Todd, how was your traction? Brandon's E30 S50 turbo with 313rwhp did a 12.8 @ 109 with no traction through third gear. I know he could be low 12's with traction, but he popped the headgasket and is rebuilding for 500 crank HP now...

Well he obviously had much better traction than I did or my clutch slipped more than I think. I would have run 109 or 110 if I had not been bouncing the rev limiter. I had to side step the clutch to get off the line which resulting in spinning all of first gear hard enough to bounce the rev limiter. The car hooked up in 2nd gear. What was his 60' time?

Well, he was pretty much started in second gear. He would let first out for a second then just shift into second gear. It spun into 4th as well. I forget what his 60' was.

Hmm, my 5er with at least 380rwhp and skinny 225s won't spin the tires in 3rd when it is warm outside.

He was running very worn 225 Kumho 712's.

the car went 12.8@112 on 5psi
112mph makes more sense considering the 313rwhp

Any guess on an aluminum block m52 and OBD1 with the Getrag 260 on a strip?
