Look at the tag on your diff case.

On the passenger side in the casing it says A0B17 on the driver side in teh casing it says BMW. There is no other marking or label. Does this mean anything?

            No, that doesn't mean anything.

            If it's a 4.10:1 diff it'll say "4,10"

It's on a metal tag about 1/2" wide on the diff.

No tag or any other identifier on the diff I picked the car up & looked!

The dealer could probably tell you what all of your original options were if you give them your vin.

I am in Mexico & am lucky the dealer can find anything, I ordered 4 parts and 2 were wrong. They were pissed when I refused to pay for the wrong ones.

I got this from the vin from BMW parts database:

                    E30 Cab 325i M20 USA 19900400 L A
Production Code: BB23, line ID: 45086

Heres the vin if anyone wants to take a crack at it:WBABB2312LEC22971 The car was purchased in June or July of 90 it has a 4/90 build date.

                    Thanks

Jack up the rear, spin a tire one rotation. Count and see how many times the input flange rotates.

Your car most likely has a 3.73, possibly a 4.10, limited-slip was an option
