Lets see for a second. Flying brick.... vs. car with on the fly adjustable suspension, exhaust, and active aero chin and trunk spoiler... under rated twin turbo v6 vs. high out put stretched thin 4banger... 180mph top speed vs. what... 130? Yeah I'm sure you walk all over VR4's you fucking tool. S50 swapped you would be watching a VR4's tail lights run away on the highway. Keep dreaming.
Not saying it's the fastest car ever, or even very quick, it's heavy, but still respectably quick (even with stock sti's and such to 100 then it's gone, for what it's worth) but when it comes to a highway roll, you have to be kidding yourself or just no dick about the cars to think you walk away from them on the highway.
BTW you nitpicking the comparison between the eta and i's and M does nothing but prove my point, that being you know your car is slow and therefor have to feel there is a point to be proven.
A fast car is fast, regardless of what cars are slower or faster. Beating another car is just a win and losing is just a loss, that doesn't make your car any faster or slower. We both have slow cars, get over it. Very, very fun slow cars, and slow car racing is the best kind sometimes, but you need a reality check. It's just plain dangerous to drive around with your head that far lodged up your anus.
As for beating a 3000GT, all I know is we were on the highway side by side at 80. The RiceRocket launched a tiny bit before me so my bumper was at it's door until about 110 but then I started catching up and by 140 I had put several car lengths on it. I do not talk about this episode much because I am very vocal about not racing on public roads but it happened and I feel now might be the right time to bring it up.
The math is still in my favor though, no matter how you slice it. The VR4 has 146 bhp per ton as opposed to my 137 bhp per ton. Not only is that not a huge difference but by the time you factor in the massive power loss of the VR4's AWD drivetrain the numbers are in my favor. An ETA body E30, with it's high stance and lack of front downforce would probably not be able to maintain a high speed but an IS with it's enhanced front aerodynamics is much better suited to high speed travel. Add a front splitter, sideskirts and much lower stance and you have a car that will maintain high speeds much better than it's economic brethren. Now put it up against the E30 which, while more angular, is also narrower and therefore has a smaller front profile and I'm sure, if I had the patience to calculate it, the Cd of the two cars wouldn't be that far off. How about learn something before you open your mouth next time, huh? You'll look like less of a tool.
Oh, and it's not nice to call people "tool" just because their car is better than yours, mkay?Last edited by Fidhle007; 04-04-2008, 03:45 PM.'89 325is S50 Track Montser

K well i saw someone mention the Drift Bible. Just download that or pull it up on youtube. You wont learn how to drive well, but if you go out and just throw yourself around some wide open corners you may start to understand some of what was in the vid. Like i said, watching a video isn't gonna make you a good driver. And I'm probably gonna need a good lawyer now.

My favorite part is when I mention this car, and people start BS'ing saying "geo metro" or "geo prism" and have no idea what a storm is anyways, but think it is far inferior to an E30 at the track or auto-x, so commence flaming... then when curiousity sets in go yahoo/google geo storm and find out about another old cheap cool fun car. Yes it's fwd... but unless you drift or drag race, which most of your cars can't do anyways, then they will kick your ass track or auto-x. Not hating on E30's, again, just the people talking crap about mk2's outhandling E30's so easily.

I am one of those guys who walked away from a 3000gt vr4 spyder on the highway... In a 1991 Infiniti Q45t 4100lb four door sedan with a total of five people along for the ride (including me driving). Not even close at all...
edit -- my point to this is two totally different cars that are not even the same class is not a EQUAL comparison...Last edited by atomic; 04-04-2008, 06:08 PM.

Umm, dude - yea, so what if my car loses to a VR4, or my friends SR20DET 240sx, or my other friends swapped CRX?!
My friends don't care and I don't care. We each enjoy our cars because they are the way we like them. I honestly couldn't care less if some Honda Civic Si beat me in a straight line, more power to him. I've drivin cars like those, and it doesn't put a smile on my face...unless I'm laughing because they suck?
Anyway, that's my two cents...- Sean Hayes

I see Mullholland used his vacation time from bf.c to come over here and make a bunch of new friends. Excellent use of time.
The only difference between here and bf.c is you don't get "a week to think about it," you get the banstick immediately. And I predict this will not end well for you if you continue to be an ass.

Regardless, as far as arguing bhp/lb goes, now you really sound like a honda lover. And as far as a geo storm being ugly, or gay, or wtf ever, I don't care, we were talking about auto-x, not a fucking show car. As far as that classic fallback on "oh I may have lost but at least I drive a BMW!" that's just pathetic. Getting beat is getting beat, and the uglier and cheaper the car doing the beating, the more it sucks. That's why people build fast civic and crap. Not shitty rice boxes, but real built nasty cheap cars.
The only way your argument works if you were A) In a luxury car, or B) an exotic, but you aren't. You're in a crappy BMW and you're going to race people and talk about how you beat VR4's from a highway roll (which is a complete crock of shit and anyone who knows anything about either car will tell you) and then talk about how you don't care when you lose because you're still in your BEEEEEMMAAAAHHHH!!!! Your a twat. Have fun getting alked past but feeling good because you know you still drive an amazing 20 year old brick.

Oh man, you are so lying. The VR4 has an "active aero chin"??? A wha- what?? The M3 has, like, nothing. It's just a brick, right?
Man, I'm glad I now know about the newfound goodness of the Mitsubishi Boat Anch- I mean, 3000GT VR4.
Mulholland: Win.
Stop making fun of my eta man.

Just FYI anyone thinking an E30 M3 is going to mow down a VR4 because of roundel boy up there, VR4's lay down the quarter mile in 12.9 at 108ish with 1.8 60ft's on nothing but 93 octane with the boost turned up slightly. And again, they top out at 180, your car struggles to break 140 from drag. It really isn't even a close competition, regardless of what the fucking 3000GT weighs. It's a faster car. The whole "bhp/lb." argument is complete honda ricer bullshit and you need to kill yourself if you magazine race like that then post blatant lies. By your reasoning you are saying a storm is faster than your "is" anyways 2,100 lb car, 140hp vs. 2,600 lb car, 170hp. So now by your reasoning, not only does it outhandle you, it beats you from a highway roll. Conratulations sucker.

You obviously have you head up your ASS. I never said anything about racing a vr4 in my BMW now did I ? NO, I stated what I was driving and it is not a honda built car either nor am I a honda lover.
And if you will reread my post you will see that I was in a luxury car that waxed that vr4's ass, period on the highway ( I was there and you were not so take it or not, I know I do as all I saw was a vr4 in my rearview mirror ). My post was also to show you that your comparison was apples to oranges as mine was as well to the vr4. The vr4 had a small ball sack compared to the big v8 ball sack the Q45 had for it that night.
I also never claimed that my 20 year old brick was fast in any manner, period. As a matter a fact I never even made mention that I had a BMW. But I will have you know that my 20 year old brick puts a smile on my face when taking it through the mountain roads, kinda like the smile you get on your face when sucking a cock.
Good luck with your short life span here and other forums where you come off as a TROLL...

Oh and I also forgot your car could switch between single and dual exhaust to control turbo spool and economy vs. performance, you're right, GOD, how, just HOW could I have not known all of that? You showed me, for true.
