Dang, I remember getting my skidplate for less than $200 from the dealer about 2 yrs ago. Prices must have gone up.Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

The plate that I have pictured on my old car mounts at 4 points. 2 on the subframe and 2 on the unibody.
The plate I have waiting to go on my current E30 is different. It looks as if it mounts to the subframe and then the front core support.
This is the best pic I have right now. What you see is the curved portion on the front of the skidplate. You can sort of see the mounting points that attach to the core support.
