Pics of 50% tint all around on black bimmers?

I hate the chrome trim on my black e34, going to shadowline it. And smoke teh lights. I want to get tint, but I'm not sure what to get. I had 50% up front and 30% in the back windows of my e32 and thought it looked great.

however cops weren't a big fan of it. I mostly only get trouble in the suburbs (live in the city) so it's not a huge deal.

When I was 17 i had an eta, black w/shadowline and 50% all around, but I can't find any pics of it.

anyone have any pics of 4 door bimmers with 50% all around?

I want this car blacked out, I'll also be going with these tails

basically what I'm after is to black this bitch out, but as legally as possible in terms of tint. just trying to figure out if 50% is dark enough

I think 50% would look good. I actually want an even higher percentage (lighter tint if I can find it) - just so the windows have a touch of tint to them.

lol I heart that word. I went from 5% rear windows to no tint. I like it without tint but it would be nice to have a UV protection of some sort.

I think I have 50% last I checked. My brother has 30% all around I think.

One quick one I found. Go browse around if you want: http://photos.e30driven.com/

^^^So you think that is 50%? I think that is what i have. How does the percentage work in tinting? I think I would prefer just a shade darker all around in mine. I keeps it cooler and so much easier on the eyes. Kinda hard to tell in this pic though.

Almost positive - because that's the legal limit on the front windows in Idaho - and I wanted the tint the same all around.

I wish I would have gone darker, and did something like my brothers - but the tint serves it's purpose of protecting my interior and cutting down on summers heating my car into an oven. With no AC, it was crucial to have good tint - and it made my car driveable in Palm Springs, CA over the summer! LOL

30% is darker - it's the amount of light the tint lets thru. So, 75% is lighter than 50, 5% is limo tint. Actually, come to think of it, my brother has 20%. He's H&Re30 on here is anyone wants to PM him.

Does tint really help that much?

i have 35% all around and i really like it.

At first I was anti tint but once you get it its hard to imagine the car with out it. Getting tint is like a boob job... once its over and done with you are always gonna want a lil bit bigger/darker than you originally thought. I would err on the dark side.

OHHH YAAAA - blocks 99% of UV rays (this you get even with 90% tint which is barely noticeable)

However, to limit heat from building up in your car, the darker the tint, the more heat it will stop. First hand - my car would be parked outside all day in 105 F temps before tint - even with a sunsheild, it was god damn hot.

After tint, it was still damn hot - but I swear it was 5-7 F COOLER in the car than before, if not more. Very very big difference.

                      Eventually I'll go darker..

Is it legal for tint shops to tint your windshield with something like 90 or 95%. It would probably help save your dash. Wonder how it would be at night though.

You probably wouldnt be able to tell it was there....

The percentage is the amout of light it lets through. 0% is a clear window... 100% you cant see through it at all. Limos use 5%(very dark).

Not legal in Texas, but I talked with the tinter and for an additional $70, he put a 50 one piece on the front windshield. You cannot tell it is there. Makes a lot of difference on heat, etc and gives UV protection! I love it!! Also have 30 all around. The only thing you have to be careful is the state inspection stickers here in TX. I remove them myself before going to station and then you dont have some moron scraping it with razor and destroying tint. I have had one cop ask about the windshield, and I said that it was factory UV protection from BMW. He still gave me speeding ticket, but I've had the windshield done for almost 7 years now. Anyway, I still know the tinter at the shop and will probably have the car redone next month. The old tint is looking a little "old". I'll post some pics later this week of it.
