So I decided to pull my car off the road for a week or two

As I have the beater now, I decided to get the white car up on the stands and get to work on replacing everything that has been irritating me over the years.

    The List of improvements

    5 Speed Pedal Cluster
    5 Speed Getrag Transmission
    New Drive Line
    Stainless Steel Brake Lines
    Cabrio Front Sway Bar
M3 Rear Sway Bar with new Rear Sway Links
    New Trailing Arm Bushings
    New Rear Subframe Bushings
    M3 Steering Rack
    325I Exhaust System

Anything else I should really nail while I am in there? any ideas? Having the car up on stands waiting is not a massive deal to me, as i have my other car, but I do wanna get this done :)

How about a E36 steering rack ... since you're buying a rack anyway. The conversion stuff they have on the zionsville site.

Sounds like a nice array of improvements, both you and TJ. I did a similar project a few weeks ago--subframe swap, etc. It is tricky work and time consuming, especially if you plan to remove the entire subframe from the car. If you plan to replace the trailing arm bushings, urethane is the easiest to install. The factory rubber ones are difficult to insert into the T-arm, and I hear that the factory eccentrics are a very difficult to properly adjust.

Let us know how everything goes, good luck

One tool that's invaluable for subframe removal is a ladies-foot, or pinchbar. They give you extreme leverage for jerking the subframe loose from the body.

my subframe came out pretty easy.. maybe cars from the rust belt have more trouble. I still had the diff in mine though so that might have helped it drop out. all I needed was a dead blow mallet to get it loose.
