that's the actual name, Pointer is another model offered by VW but not in the US. The jetta is the only car that changes name now (rabbit/golf was the other) when it comes to the states. The rest of the world gets cool compacts that we don't like the Polo. http://www.vw.com.mx/CWE/home/HOM001Inicio/ for all the available models in mexico.

                  It's a Jetta here. Over there, it's a Bora.

correct, for marketing reasons since the Jetta outsells the Golf in the states (only place that happens world wide) VW kept the name. MK 1 and MK2s were jettas everywhere, MK3 was the Vento in the rest of the world, and MK4 was the Bora.

Vento, that's the one I forgot. I know a girl that has a MkIV Bora. She got it from the dealership, it was sent over by some freak mistake. People are always asking her what it is.

That's called a Gol here in Brazil.

Yes, Gol, no f.... just Gol. There is the Golf, but that's a whole different car that you all know.

They have 1.0 liter engines... the true economy car and best in "to be riced" category.

Edit: By the way, VW did sell a car named Pointer here in Brazil, however it was a whole different looking chassis. The car sold horribly and was taken off the showroom not even 2 years after it was introduced.
