    Porsche TURBO

Boy oh boy, do I have a new favorite car. I was visiting my cousin's house this weekend and as soon as I walked in he handed me the keys and said go check it out. The car was outstanding. The body looks amazing, the interior looks amazing (suede headliner), the sound is amazing. That is by far the fastest and most expensive car I have ever driven. Very smooth, very fast, but I didnt get a chance to test how it handled.

BTW- Pics will follow later today.

          Beautiful. What color was it?

          Can't wait until Randy Sparre's 993 GT2 is done, I've haven't been in a Porsche since I was 5.

I beg to differ. If you ever get the opportunity to ride in a 996 GT2.................holy shit. Best car ever!!! I have not riden in a 996 TT though, I'm sure it is not TOO much slower 8)

Whether it be a 993 or 996 twin-turbo, I think both are amazing cars capable of ripping your face off everytime you get behind the wheel. 400+ boosted horsepower is good in anyone's book.

The 996 GT3 is without question the purists Porsche. Lots of HP and little in the way of creature comforts (this is the one I want). Then there's the Carrera GT. That thing just rocks.

                      Nigga what?

                      It's a 996, it's got a coolant tank. It's not a purist's car.

                      Enough said.

Ok....ok....maybe not a true purist's Porsche (my apologies to the dedicated air-cooled faithful), but in terms of concept....it is a purist's car. Like Hammond from Top Gear commented on the GT3: "It makes no apologies for what it is." Light-weight seats, no A/C, thin carpets, less sound deadening material, only available with a 6-speed MANUAL (no poser-matics offered), no DSC/traction control and a big/fat/huge PCCB package comes standard. You have to admit, it was created for the enthusiast....not to cruise the strip in.

Rob - 993s are gorgeous. Too bad they didn't make a GT3 variant for the states for this car. However, the 997s due out in a couple years look MUCH better than the 996....and I believe an RS or GT3 equivilant will be offered over here.
