Tire suggestions for Brock B1 16x7.5 (help a noob)

I know nothing about selecting tires. I could figure out the right size after a bit of looking around. But as far as brands, types, speed rating I don't really know what to get. I just ordered my Brock B1's today. It's the 16x7.5" ones. Any suggestions on tires? I'd like something that does fairly well on wet roads cause I spend most of the year in Seattle and the rest in Portland. Thanks guys.

Those are ET25, so you can fit a nice meaty 225/45/16 on them neatly. Excellent.

The ES100 is the tried and true, the S-03's are too wide, and the Kumho 712's suck. Get the Yokohama ES100's. $94 each and www.tirerack.com

Another option is the Falken Azenis 215/45-16. This is a popular choice among the auto-x and track school scene. Due to its shape, its offers a lot of contact patch for a 215. I've had a chance to run some of these tires on factory 14" basketweaves and I was impressed. They stick well, are predictable, and affordable. I believe Discount Tire carries them.

About the only downsides I can think of are: 1) the 215/45 is a tad undersized so your speedo won't be 100% accurate, and 2) the Azenis tread design isn't the quietest on the market.....so if you're willing to put up with a little noise in exchange for good handling go for it.

He said rain performace is a major issue, I'd never go with the Azenis if so. I have them on my 14's, and when they start wearing I'd be weary taking them to highway speed in a rainstorm. They also ride pretty stiff and have hilariously bad treadwear.

I wouldn't go for those. Sorry to shoot them down so harshly, but they seem to be the opposite of what you're looking for. :?

I'll second the recommendation for the 225 es100's. They are excellent all around tires for the money and they kick ass in the rain.
