Farbin is right in everything he said.

I bought an E36 with no A/C or any lines whatsoever. I had to find ALL parts used or new, and build it back. I learned a lot at that point. The E30 A/C system is really similiar, and more effective if you ask me. Also, you can use Freeze12 as an R12 replacement. Its the same price from waht I remember and its available at parts stores. I have NOT seen it at Auto Zone or the like however.

And regarding expansion valves, all E30's need a replacement expansion valve. Period. The A/C may be working, but that part is an extremely common failure and makes the other parts work harder and your A/C effectiveness diminishes. Its like a 15 dollar part, but its a fuckin pain to put in.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. how do you screw/unscrew a fitting onto a hose?

Don't you have something like a Parker store in your area?

How much is a Sanden (sp?) R134A compressor worth? I have one lying around the garage (compressor is around 2 years old) that I took out of my E30 when I parted it out this past January.

                Any ideas?

                Thanks,

I'll take pics of the adapter plate when I get home from work. It was mounted up to a 1986 325es 2.7 litre engine.
