Ive noticed ETA's really need a few maintenance items before you can even begin to mess with them like FPR, and camshaft and reference sensors. My 86 325es does NOT get great gas mileage.
3.73 with a JC or MarkD chip is perfect for auto cross.
Mine is fun though. I miss the top end sometimes but in the end my car is an awesome DD. I dont need to go that fast on the highway anyways. This is the first car I've had that I havent gotten massive amounts of speeding tickets.
In fact, I'll ninja edit this.
The ONLY THING WORTH DOING TO AN ETA IS:
1) Chip
2) Factory air filter
3) New Coil, wires, distributor stuff
4) FPR
5) Camshaft and speed reference sensors
Everything else is a waste. Buy all OEM all the time. You get no power from plug wires, or cone filter, bigger injectors blah blah. Its all wasted money.
