I doubt the wing and mirrors will make it due to U.S. regulations/safety what nots. Could be the first lexus car that is interesting.

I think this car will be pure sex when it hits, as long as Lexus continues to target the R8 and doesn't let it turn in to an ES350 with a big engine

Damn...those are some real sexy cars...Toyotas are always great DDs. So we know they're practical as well...The IF is a direct competitor to the M3...and it definately looks the part!

Ironic that this thread should surface:

I am somewhat fortunate in the fact that I live in the area above Torrance, California, which is where both Honda and Toyota headquarters for America are located. I see quite a few of their prototypes and soon to be released vehicles roaming the Peninsula that i live on, such as the Honda Fit almost a year before it was released, the new Scion generation before it was released, the new Honda direct competition to the Prius, and so on.

Just last night I was able to observe the LF-A, still in full clad, heading up into the Peninsula after 10:00 p.m. last night. It was being tailed by the Japanese's favorite German measuring stick, a brand spanky new, white 997 Turbo. Given respect to all the spy photographs I had seen of the LF-A, I was left with the impression that it would somehow be a little on the "big" side in terms of size when compared to similar models, however, this prototype really was not all that bigger than the 997 and had an even lower stance. This move by Lexus is quite bold for their American business scheme, yet I still applaud them for the incentive to do such and I would be dishonest if I claimed that I was not interested to see what the outcome will be.

Oh, and on the IS-F, it's about as appealing (visually) as some of the less than desirable, modified imports that I see roaming the streets and parking lots driven by ignorant adolescents who have more time and money than sense. I have seen the IS-F numerous times in my area, both before and after it has been released for purchase, and in my opinion (disclaimer), it is one of the few cars that actually looks worse in person than in print.

Having said all of that, I welcome all of these new entries as it promotes competition and better product offerings by everyone, including the "King of the Hill" in this segment, BMW.

                    Cheers.
