so uh, wtf do i do now?

so i bought a couple of those little rubber stoppers that go under the front of the hood to stop it from going all the way down when you close it. and i put them in, closed the hood, and tried to open it to re-adjust them and this happened:

    So...
    1. how do i get the hood open?
    2. how do i replace the handle? isn't the whole thing one piece that's connected to the cable?
    what exactly is sigworthy

Removed the lower knee-pad/panel. Hood release handle is mounted with two 10mm(iirc) bolts through the driver side speaker grill/cover.

You can also try to remove the front grill(s).

        1. Theres a little circular catch just on the inside of the driver side head lights. Stick a screwdriver in there, and it'll open.
        2. Can't help you there.

Did you break the handle or the release cable?

Either way, you can get the hood open with a screwdriver. Look near the driver's side headlight through the grill, you'll see a release lever.

i broke the handle. can you replace the handle or do you have to replace the cable when you replace the handle as well?

You can just replace the handle. 2 bolts hold it in as mentioned above.

You can order it separately or as a complete assembly. It's cheap and easy to replace. In the meantime, the latch can be triggered with a long standard screwdriver; just look for the keyhole-shaped thing through the holes in your driver's side grille.

Went to an HPDE with Mark (markseven) and I want to try that out, so a little bit of yes and no with the S50 in the cabrio. I do love top down days like today, but I just couldnt justify a 1000 rollbar to make it okay for HPDE's... So its time for a coupe.

No. It's about 6-8 inches to the left of the driver's side high beam when you're looking at it. You'll need a screwdriver about a foot long to reach the latch through the hole. You can barely see it in the pic below, it's the small hole in the grille to the left of the highbeam in the "slat" at the top.
