You certainly are correct on the power spec.'s, allegedly, this beast will pump out 400 or so horsepower and around 450 ft./lbs. of torque. I would however assume that those figures may be conservative as seen by the incidences involving dyno charts on the N54.
I do believe that this engine carries the designation of N64 though.
I also would highly doubt that BMW would go ahead and 86 the S65 for the CSL M3, especially since there has been no indication that even the ALMS M3 that is going to be campaigned will use the N64. Not saying that it is impossible, just unlikely.Comment

Does anyone realize this motor also has "ion sensing" via the spark plugs? (aka no outside knock sensors) Which means the computer can monitor cylinder pressures and adjust timing/fuel injection accordingly to prevent knock. My 2.9L Build!

doesn't the acura RDX also have inboard turbo, or am I remembering incorrectly? On a much smaller and less powerful scale of course, but glad to be seeing more of these sexy beasts... I have yet to see any of these get swapped due to price, but yea, every time a manufacturer puts one out, all of that manufacturer's car enthusiasts start pondering swaps into their old favorites. Certainly would be one hell of a motor for an E30 haha... but for all of the trouble and the cost, there are cheaper engines to crank out 400hp in the ballpark I'm sure.Comment

RDX is on the mani. I don't think the RDX has an "inboard" area to utilize. Drunk postin' FT@W.Comment

okay so maybe I am drunk, but wouldn't you be? My internet and cable is out for the weekend so I only have spotty wifi I am stealing from other people in my apartment complex. I don't know why I was thinking they greenlit it for the RDX, but I remember acura tossing the idea around for something... oh well.Comment

RDX is the first Honda/Acura with stock turbo, but is only a four cyl IIRC. Thusly no valley area to utilize. 2.4 iVtec.okay so maybe I am drunk, but wouldn't you be? Yeah it's an i4 with an exhaust valve to reduce turbo lag, I just remember acura had a v6 with inboard turbo's in the works at some point not too long ago... that or I'm on too much crack.. or just not enough...Comment
