For anyone considering an S50 swap....

This isn't intended to be a list of kills, just an informative post about what an S50/E30's capabilities are and what you can expect to beat: :)

    1) '96 M3 (Jim C. intake, otherwise stock).
    --4th gear pull, 60-110.
He was in front of me, and hit it before me. I dropped the hammer, pulled steadily, passed him in the right lane and proceeded on my way, shifting to 5th at 6000 RPM. About 6 carlengths of pull.
    --5th gear pull, 60-80.
This was to test the low-end/mid-range.
Dead even. Niether car pulled. The M3 has shorter gearing than I, the intake manifold designed for better lowend, and he has the 3.2 bottomend.

    2) '03 Benz CL55 AMG
    --2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th gear pull
We hit it at the same time at 45mph (I was in 2nd). He immediately jumped and walked, walked me 3rd....4th....5th. About 8 carlengths total.
    What can I expect? He has 490HP and over 500 ft/lbs. :)

    3) '02 325i
3rd gear pull. I had 2 passengers. Flat out destroyed this guy. He honestly thought he was dealing with a 318 or 316. He was laughing when I jumped at him. He was not laughing when I left him standing still. I slowed down just so I could catch the facial expression. The man was disgusted.

    4) APR tuned Jetta 1.8t
    1st gear, 5mph roll.
I stuck it too quickly and got wheelspin, he stayed even. Shifting to 2nd left him....3rd really left him. We did it twice. same results. I then pulled off at my exit, and I was turning left and him turning right. He had his window down, pointed to his hood and said "1.8 turbo"......I said, "3 liter all motor." He grinned, thumbs up, then drove off.

    5) 5.0 Mustang (early '90s.)
    3rd, 4th gears....60-100.
He got on it before me (passing)....I reeled him and passed him instantly. 8-10 carlengths, no sweat.

E9nine----I do have more, but I don't post about the sub-200horsepower cars. I think I posted about the E46 325i because of the smirk on that guys face at first, and how quickly it got wiped off. I really wish I had it on video. :P

          Others that got shook:
          Prelude VTEC
          E36 325is
          minivan Si (the new one)
          325e (hehe, I had to :D)
          regular Boxster (non-S)

Oh ok...understandable now...I'll cut the chase and ask first : WHEN ARE YOU RUNNING AGAINST YOUR BRO??

That's the race you HAVE to get on video and at least 6runs with you guys switching over for a measure to see if its driver effort :D

Who knows when Alex will get his M3 back, they are doing so much work on it and have so much left to do. I am really interested in racing him. I am sure he'll pull away, and he's constantly giving me shit about it. When I get a 4.10 though (which I will, soon), I'll have shorter gearing than him and it will be a lot closer than running him with my 3.73 I have now.

I tried to get a white E46 M3 to go on the highway, but the guy was like 70 and looked at me like I was crazy.

                            Tell me about it.

However, 316's are even slower....and that's what he thought he was running. ;)
