Incidentally, I happen to be female. It's not immediately obvious with my screen name. Soooo, yeah, I don't shop at "the auto stuff store".

Ah yes, the M54 has long been thought of as one of BMW's more raw motors. It reminds many of the S14 and the M88/3. When coupled with ZF's vicious 5HP19 unit, the car becomes far more of a driver's car than any E30. Some expert drivers, Hans Stuck in particular, have managed sub-7 minute Nordschleife times with these cars. They attribute these times to the car's state-of-the-art suspension. The idea that these cars are "chick cars" is- oh, double cup holders, how cute.

That shit's lifted from Wiki, I don't know what you guys are talking about. ;)

Yup. Who also works on it herself and owns lots of tools that she didn't buy at "the auto stuff store".

Haha, probably more tools than I have now...though I gave 90% of them up when I moved :(. And im def not dissing female drivers, just the lesser compitent "bimbo chicks" and yes...a lot of male drivers fit in the category as well. I've seen my share of bad skills and accidents from both sides (money can't buy common sense and skill). As for the whole auto thing...I enjoy cruising in a car without having to bother with gear shifting. I've also never really cared to learn how to drive stick, im not a huge fan.
