    Microsoft word 2003....

    I have a document in my possesion that is encoded by Word 2k3 and I cant get it to open on O2k or XP. Can anyone here open it in 2003 and save it in office 2000 encoding?

          had no luck myself due to security restrictions @ work (i don't have office @ home), but sent a link to yr email that might be helpful.

                  no luck here, i tried on 2 different machines (one with Office XP, and the other with Office 2003). I'm not too sure what the deal is with these, it almost seems like it got written in a different language. Anyone have any ideas?

                    i would have done the same but security measures prevent me from downloading .exe files @ work, & i don't have office on the computer @ home.

                            I looked up on it, and there protected by default to word 2003 format only, because earlier versions lack provisions for the Information Rights Management (IRM).




                            EDIT: READ: NOBODY BUT RYAN ON THE COMPUTER HE INITIALLY MADE IT ON WILL BE ABLE TO OPEN IT
