don't ever order gaskets from bav auto. Ordered an oil pan gasket, tie rod, several other misslanious parts. They just stuck the oil pan gasket in with the rest of the heavy metal parts, by the time it got to its destination it was compleatly trashed. Called told them it was distroyed so they sent another one. This one also was distroyed when it arrived. The least they could do is pack it against something flat so it doesen't get bent, creased torn ect....

I've had very good success with BMA and Eurasian (EAP4parts.com). I've also never had a problem with Bav Auto or BMP, but I've never ordered anything out of the ordinary from them, usually just filters and other general maintenance items. In a pinch I've picked up parts from a place local to me, Foreign Parts Specialties. If they don't have the parts in stock, they have them there later in the day or the the next morning. They're not as inexpensive as mail order, and they don't carry specialty parts like M-Technic pieces or performance parts, but they are still significantly cheaper than the local BMW dealers.

:D I just ordered an oil pan gasket from them. But it's just that, a new drain plug, washer, and new roundels for the front/rear. I don't imagine too much of that stuff can get damaged.

Right after I got the order confirmation email, I called them and spoke to Ian, and he assured me that everything I ordered was in the box, showed by the packing slip.

I have had backorder problems from them in the past, and otherwise have generally not had any problems, but it seems they've been steadily getting worse and more expensive over time. My business will be going to BMA from now on, since they have all the inventory that BavAuto has, and are much cheaper.

Bmp design has never screwed up any of my orders and their tech department is extremely helpful.

My order got here today, with everything included that I ordered, and TWO of the washers that I ordered only one of.

Go figure. I knew they would screw something up, at least it was in my favor. :D

Check your bill and make sure they didn't charge you for it.

You can say overpriced again! They used to have a sales rep. named Laurie, she was the coolest of them all, giving away free stuff on every order I placed. Like hats, keychains, etc.

Gave me instant discount when I referred a friend.

Anyways, the only problems I had with them a an adjustable fuel pressure regulator I bought for my 635, lasted a short period and they would not replace it.

A crappy slave cylinder too for my M3.

That's probably why she isn't there anymore. Someone found out she was giving stuff away.

Bav Auto told me my package of month late parts would arrive today.

                            Guess what....

                            NO FUCKING PACKAGE.

My dad used to order from bavauto all the time. Screwed up 8 times out of 10. Sent him the wrong mudflaps for his e28 twice (yes twice) sent me an 'i' breather tube when we ordered an eta. They've messed up plenty of times. I keep telling him not to order from them but he didnt know anyone else.

I order from either importedcarparts.com or europartsdirect.com Both have plenty of parts and they are very well priced. at euro parts all orders over 40 bucks are shipped free. I usually get my stuff within 3 days. Since he has started ordering from these sites he gets his orders correct and has no complaints.

Bav Auto needs to stop hiring morons for their stock boys / packagers.
