R3vlimited vs. E30tech vs. bimmerforums??

For me.... e30tech is my preferred forum to go on. I find the info good and the members every better. r3v on the other hand is 100% opposite... but you can still get some decent info, ect... I only go on bimmerforums if im searching google and it links me there. Seems to be more newer car enthusiast on there. Thats my .02 cents. Danny.


p.s I guess its e30tech's maturity I prefer. Even the noobs act better.

I think the best thing to do would to be post identical threads across all 3 forums, and join bimmerfest so you can post it there too. ;)

And just to defend bf.c, there are no more pop-collared preppies in the E30 section there than there are here. It may be infested with newbs and people who give out misinformation on occasion, but there are a lot of good people there as well.

agreed - Chris seems to be in it more for his own profit than the good of the community. Some of his decisions are poor (like banning acnico for selling hawt euro goodies), and he leaves the moderators there high and dry most of the time.

Thanks for the two cents. It's rare to actually here from a site owner. I'm also into old school hot rods and on a site called the H.A.M.B. (hokey ass message board) and the owner's on there a lot. It helps a lot to make sure everything's set up right and running smooth.

Nope, all run by different people with different ideas and tastes. They all run an VBulliten software, so that may be what you are talking about.

That's kinda what I figured but I wasn't sure. Any forum I'm on at this point is gonna help me since I'm so new to these cars. My goal is to have a fun daily driver that handles and drives bitchin. I bought the car from the original owner and it has 149xxx miles.

I'm doing the timing belt and water pump tomorrow even though he said he did it last year. I just want that piece of mind.

I'm also hopefully doing suspension in the next month as well as a chip. On bimmerforums, everyone swore by the Mark D. chip. Does this sound right??

you can hate on E30tech all you like, but there are people like ixer there who know far more than 99% of everyone on this board (including me).

any way you look at it, most of the crowd buying older BMWs is just looking to get the best BMW they can afford. You end up with a lot of poor kids who bus tables and the only thing they can buy is a 325e (or a 92 325i).
