On the hunt for my first E30/car.

Hey all. Im 16, turning 17 this July, and its time for me to find my first car. Ive been researching and looking for E30s for months, and Im still on the hunt for a nice one. I was extremely close to buying this: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=110345 a few days ago, until it sold just as I put in an offer. So, Im back searching. Ive seen about 4 up on craigslist since. Can you guys give me any advice on the following links, or advice in finding a nice E30 for my first car.

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/car/664219184.html - Not bad.

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/car/662607388.html - Looks decent.

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/car/664477585.html -Nice, but expensive.

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/car/671444487.html -Might go check this out. Cheap too. High mileage.

I like the '84 318i because of the color combo, but it is an automatic so I would stay away. I can't say enough about my car, so the '91 318i would be my choice for a first car.
Not that I care, of course.

$6500 for an obd2 m52 swap, IF the swap is clean is not too shabby if the body is clean straight, and mostly rust free.

however, seeing as you're only 16, and this will be your 1st car I'd suggest getting something safe, reliable and cost effective.
if you're hellbent on an E30 (which is awesome) mileage is not that big of a deal with these cars, provided it's been maintained regularly and properly.

        good luck!

last one u posted looks descent...for $1700- show up with $1000 cash act all baller and drive it home

best advice is to be patient

check the problem areas and be prepared to do a bunch of DIY stuff. I personally would look for one with a clean straight body and then work on the suspension and maintenance modding along the way. Theres more than enough info on here to get you on the right track

          good luck!

I have my road test scheduled for next Wednesday, so then I will have my license, and Ill be needing a car. :D Hopefully one of these deals are good. Stand by, as the guy with the red 91 318 is about to send me more pictures.

I recommend you stay away from the 84 mine is a project and a half, if i didnt have another car i would be hating life. Find something in decent mechanical shape so you have something dependable and learn as you go, dont immerse yourself in a big project with no experience.

The last one for sure assuming it actually has all the stuff he mentioned.

my 87 has close to if not more the 300k miles. said 263k when i bought it and had a broken odometer for who knows how long. I know i've put at least 25k trouble free miles on it myself.

I cant really see the back, but the body kit thing hes got going on in the front is a little funny. I like the color though.

I noticed all the links you have posted are craigslist, have you been checking autotrader? That's where I found mine. Took months of searching though.
