ive decided on euro headlights and grills, either plastic/euro bumpers, and maybe mt1/mt2

i think i will however have to get some work done at the shop, like repairing my radiator support since it has been bent, and maybe some alignment and paint work

do you guys think the fender is repairable or should be replaced. if it has to be replaced ill start lookin at junkyards, but if that fails where else can i get them (also i understand cabrio fenders are different than coupes)

depending on how slow the shop is, they might not want to do the work peicemeal to the car...ie all or none. you might have to shop around to find one willing. try having them do the work if you supply the parts. call them "LKQ" insted of used parts. tell them you will provide them with LKQ and new parts to do the job and ask how much to do the labor.

Update: picking up some silver plastic bumpers that I will have repainted to white tomorrow for $250 (hes throwing in a custom ebrake boot for $25 more)

I got some smoked euro smileys and euro grills for $250 a few days ago, as well as a new kidney grill from eBay for $35 which I will probably end up shadowlining.

Just this morning ordered a 6-piece lamin-x set and 2 HID kits (a 50W 5000K kit for my high beams, and a 35W 6000K kit for my low beams, the 35W kit was **FREE**!!)

The 2 HID kits were $300 and the lamin-x was $50

so looks like all i need now is a fender (found a primered one) and possibly some repair of my radiator mount and i will be back in business. im very very excited

so looks like total costs is gonna be somwhere around $1300, as of tomorrow when I buy the bumpers I will have spent $250 + $275 + $35 + $300 + $50 = $910
add the cost of the fender, and painting the bumpers and fender, I estimate I will end up somewhere around $1300. Not bad since the original quote I got was for $3500, and I would have still had ugly metal bumpers and us ellips!

ok time for an update, ive been super busy but now its time to finish this

in order to put everything on (headlights, grills, etc) i need to get the plastic bumpers and fender on, but first they need to be painted. The plastic bumpers I got are silver, and in decent condition, if they were to be repainted any scratches/blemishes would be taken care of. The fender I have is kind of primered black. My question is this: I called the body shop that gave me the estimate from before and he said that they can paint it, but since they dont use factory paints (they manually color match), that without my car they wont be able to color match it very well. He said it would be close, but it wouldnt be exact

SO... do you guys think I should just put the bumper and fender on and then have them painted while on the car? Or just bring them in to this guy or possibly another place that does do factory paints and then install them?

the fender should be painted on the car anyway. even if they used factory paints, they'd need to color match it - 20 year old paint is going to be faded a little bit, even if it's well cared for. I'd just take the car in and let them do it properly.

well the fender is beyond repair which is why i have a replacement

i started the bumper swap/fender install today, but i ran out of time before a thunderstorm came

currently the headlights, grills, and metal bumper are off the car, but the bumper shocks and body color side bumper panels are still on

I ended up with a new fender, he pulled out the unibody and straigthened out the headlight supports and everything is good as new pretty much. He also fixed my hood, I bought a used bumper cover.

cost me 1300$ with paint and labor and parts.

this is where i am right now, as you can see i have the plastic bumper and shocks, but i dont have a valence. I thought the bumper went on first, and the valence after, I didn't realize the bumper fits to the valence. So my question is, is all I need the valence (complete with brake ducts, etc) or do i need more hardware to complete this swap?
