    help me make a decision.....

so right now i have a 93 Honda civic auto... (no fun to drive at all just use as commuter) i have the option to trade to someone for a 325e pewter color 2dr 5 speed manual with 293,000 miles has service records and he says it doesn't leak any fluids the only thing wrong is that the turn signals don't work and the climate control fan doesn't work either. here are some pics of it
    tell me what you think.

    Thanks

He probably said that because of the mileage. However, that may not be the best indicator of the condition. You need to provide more information for anyone to give you an educated opinion. When you look at the car, you need to check on the condition of a bunch of things. How is the interior? Have you looked underneath the car to see how it looks? Any rust anywhere? How does it drive? Good shocks, ball joints, bushings, tires? When was the timing belt last changed? Can you do (or have someone do for you) a compression test? It is very easy.

All of these things are what you should look for, or ask the seller about.

And by the way, where in Bellevue are you?

I wouldn't do it if I were you ... but I am too poor to invest in not almost perfect cars ...

id want to know more maintenance history on the motor. almost 300k on a m20 although not unheard of, is quite lengthy for no rebuild history.

                  Exactly.

It all depends on what those records show. Oil changes and new wiper blades aren't going to cut it ;)

See if/when the suspension has been replaced, brakes, cooling along with any motor work. Those electrical problems are minor and if you're somewhat handy with a bentley and test light, you can fix them yourself.

                    Branden,

I'm sure you'll be able to find something nicer than that before or at the e30 picnic. Good luck man.

i would say keep the civic, you dont want to trade for the 325e and suddenly have to take on hundreds of dollars worth of repairs just to have a reliable commuter when you have one already

if your heart is set on the e30, save up and buy it, but if you need wheels, keep the civic
