Do the pump locations differ from E to I cause i know my E has two pumps one in the tank and one tucked under the body in front of the drivers side rear wheel.

blck325is, did you get both pumps or just one?

get Triple A PLUS - you can then get towed ANYWHERE you say you want your car towed to - whether it's your house, your friend's house, your buddy's garage, your favorite local garage, etc. I used to have regular AAA (it SUCKED), then opted for the PLUS package because it has so many more benefits, not to mention it's basically "no questions asked" when you have such a break down... If I'm in a buddy's car and it breaks down, I can use my membership to get HIS car towed even though he has no membership...

Look into AAA Plus, IMO, it's worth the annual fee they charge for the upgraded service.

Hopefully you did get your fuel pump fixed and did not get hit with any shop charges...

NAPA is always expensive, they overcharge and mark things way up above cost!

Good point, I didn't even think of that.

$185 from BMA... 10 minute install... you're set!

BTW, does anyone have a write up or anything like that for the Walbro route? I already bought a brand new VDO pump for my E30, but maybe I'll do a Walbro for my other E30?

In my meager experience... For the late BMWs with the in-tank Main pump the OE VDO pumps are much better than the Bosch replacement or any aftermarket pump I've seen.

For the early cars (external main) Bosch is pretty much the only game in town.

Well I got it fixed and unfortunately paid the cost. A lesson hard learned, but now I'm going to do everything I can to make sure the folk at tng are the only ones touching my car other than me. Fucking bill almost killed me. Thanks for everything though people.
