I think the reason you see more of the S52s blowing up is the fact that people beat them hard. In my experience it's as reliable if not more so.

                                mine stopped at 189k that was at least 5 years ago. i would say an s5X engine will last as long as any other engine, as long as proper maintenance is performed.
