correction. the front part is a bolt on. that includes the valence and the bumper.Originally posted by rumpleas far as the bumpers go on the 84-87 e30, i know i can't swap the plastic bumpers to it without it being a pain in the ass.....so are there any good body kits for these cars
the rear bumper requires some trimming, which is all carefully explained in one of the tech articles in this website.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

When saying you have seen 88's with plastic bumpers, you mean they've been swapped, right? Because none of the 88's came with them stock.Comment

If it was manufactured in 88, then it would be an 89 model.Originally posted by SpencerWrong - late model 88 did come with plastic bumpers stock.Originally posted by MR 325BS87

All of the 88s in the US (which would be manufactured in 87) came with the metal bumpers.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

Ken is correct.
My car is an 88 and it has metal bumpers. These are different than normal diving boards. They are actually a bit shorter (not that it matters ;)) and they can be replaced VERY easily with plastic bumpers - it's just a matter of bolting them in.- Sean HayesComment
