I had some fun polishing cars at ViV >>

this past weekend. I pitched the Atlantic Euro tent and did some GlossHaus demos at Vintage in the Vineyards near Winston Salem, NC. It was a lot of fun, especially when the owner of a pretty crispy Alfa Romeo challenged me to make it shine. These pix got a little chunky when reduced for the web, so apologies for the quality. We were pretty busy doing a variety of cars, so we did a pretty bad job on before & after pix, too, but I think you'll still get the idea... As the Alfa rolled up: A peek at the upside: It is a window to the world! :) You can see we were playing with water - watching it sort of muddle on the rest of the hood and run right off the GlossHaus section. People were gathering in front of the car all afternoon. Frankly, if it hadn't been a BMW event, I would have probably kept this car all day - it was a great platform to show how easy it is and how far back something can come! A bit of a bigger challenge came from this 2002: I don't think it is unfair to say it had some pretty significant swirling... We did both sides of the trunk in two sessions, and then did hood the same way. I like how it came out (unfortunately didn't get the before/after side by side - we fixed the tape area, too... It was a long day, and I didn't get the chance to visit much, but it was great fun!

If only clearcoat cars could be brought back like that! Nice results.

So you can't do that kind of magic to my Alpine?

It was me the whole day - my business partner Nat was in MA for a wedding... The white E24 came a long way, but unfortunately hadn't been as prepared as I hoped. There was sap that was years old on top of the oxidized white paint, and while it was coming out great (A) it was harder to see in that light and (B) the sap really needed to get some special attention before anything else. The Alfa and the black car were both a lot of fun.

We were doing a demo of GlossHaus, a product line my little company sells. Mainly it is a fun way to get out and meet people, and the products are a great combination of great results while still being really easy to use.

The system is built on the Porter Cable, which is a great combination of effective and non-threatening. The liquids are finely tuned to a set of pads that come with the kits.

The Alfa got all three levels of polish (GlossHaus Foundation I, II, III), the GlossHaus glaze and their Carnuba wax (each of these have a specific pad). The other two got away with the two lighter two levels of polish, the glaze and carnuba.

You can do a lot on clearcoat. The process is pretty much the same. Here's a clearcoat example:
