how much would you pay for a set of barely used leda coilovers custom made to fit an ix. I would need to send the guy my suspension (from parts car) and then he would send me the ledas. he paid 1700 shipped for them when new, they now have 2000 miles on the front and 500 miles on the rears.

Awesome, Ledas are sweet, they are my next choice whenever I redo my suspension again. Keep in mind that if you are going to use the rear coilovers, you will need to have a roll cage installed that reinforces the rear shock mounts. Also, I believe the towers need to be banged out with a hammer a little to make room for the spring. I had heard of one guy who tracked his car and did not have a cage, but he was going to reinforce the towers anyway.
Assuming the setup is in good shape, I would probably go $1000, maybe more, I guess it depends if those miles are on the track or the street. They are rebuildable. The US distributor/service place is in Tennessee, http://www.racersedge-inc.com. I spoke with a guy there about a year ago when I was considering this setup, he was not aware that the cage was necessary until he contacted the manufacturer in the UK. However, they are very knowledgeable.-Brandon

i don't plan on racing my ix so its not a big deal to me, i'll get another car if i want to race.

A full cage could be avoided by having a welder reinforce the rear shock towers. I'd recommend having a rear strut bar welded in to provide additional reinforcement. A full cage is a bit overkill for a street driven car, and dangerous. The strut bar should be sufficient for your purposes, as long as you don't live in a pothole haven area.Driving is the only way to go faster....

the roads suck, and there are potholes. I don't really want a full cage but i think i will get these then do what i need to do to get them to work. I avoid most of the shitty areas but i am going to hit some holes now and then. I won't t need them in right away because i will still have my h and r's and bilsteins until i can get these in.

anyone have pics of what it would take to properly reinforce the rear shock towers so that i could use these safely.

my friend has LEDA's on his e21....their freakin badass. (and the only true adjustable coilover setup that'll bolt right in to an e21).
the shocks are also 24-point adjustable (via a knob towards the bottom of the shock body)......but for a street/autox setup, u'll only be adjusting between 7 or so points (u can really crank them up if u decide to run w/ much stiffer springs).
