Witness at the Church of Ryan....

Out with some Nissan and Honda guys tonite. The usual non-ricer crowd. A Nissan mini-meet that turned into an all car meet. I got bored jsut looking at cars so I decided I was going to paruse my favorite twisties. A couple were game to come along and somehow it ended up being the bulk of the group.

I think I have them hooked. I took them flying through some brand new boulevard area with tight twisties out south where nobody lives yet. When they got out they were grinning ear to ear and immediatly swapping stories.

Well, I have converts. Now they want me to find more routes so we can do it every weekend. :? Little work for me but maybe I can help start a change in trends in KC since cops are locking down on streetracing anyway. 8)

    PS. AVSES100s are GREAT!
    Im now E30less.

The second fastest car (a TT300ZZ) recommended those too. He was running them. He also said I might prefer the AVS Sport for my "heavier" driving.

It was a fun night overall. Afterward we were comparing notes and teaching a couple people about apexing and heel/toe downshifting.

I must admit, there was one guy in a NA 240 that was surprisingly good at staying in sight of me. He had some balls and was running the ES100s also. The jackass in the TT made up for the weight by catching me on even the shortest straight.

              Needs the s50 bad.

                Ryan,

How is the balance of your car with the 245's out back?

A hint of understeer, I have a 19mm bar out back so its not that bad.

I was flying but I didnt get anywhere near upsetting the chassis (I wanted to keep the pack together too because they had no idea where they were) so I am not testing it.

Honestly a staggered setup is overkill on an E30 since its front engine but I am certain the extra rubber will be welcome after the swap. I prefer the better turn in of the smaller tires up front. I have also driven cars with 245s up front and the tremmeling is insane.

Nice, thats what I wanted to hear.

I'm probably going to do either the same tire setup as you on 16's, or 235f/255r on 17's.

                    We shall see...

Brew, what are you doing to your fenders? I had to remove my lips on my early arches just to clear and its a matter of MMs.

At this point, I really have no idea. I've got a few other things to deal with before I get new wheels... M50, m-tech 2, paint and bodywork.
I know that they aren't going to just drop in there, I'll probably do some serious fender rolling and cutting. I may bump up the spring rates on the GC's, too.
