Gotta love this E30 Craigslist ad

The above post was posted by someone in response to this ad.

If the seller can get $6.9K for a 86 325e, more power to the him/her. But then again, I think the seller has been hitting the crack pipe a few too many times thinking they will get 6.9K.

that person doesn't have a chance in hell. and if they do sell it at that price the person who buys it should get checked by a doctor!

Keep in mind the low mileage though, that might not make it worth the asking price but it does put it up around $5000 at least.

True...despite being an "e" model, its low mileage and very good overall condition set it apart from most E30 ads I see on Craigslist. Seeing that the seller has noted it has new paint, this could be a case of someone trying to recover their investment into the car or worse, a recently bent & repaired car. As always, buyer beware.

Damn, under 150k with a Tech II wheel? You could but that, take off the wheel and then resell the car for what you paid. As for the bronzit, I wonder if the seller means good paint or new paint? Bronzits are notorious for peeling, especially in sunnier climes so the car could be on the up and up.

good luck reselling it for the price you paid when that guy can't even sell it.

As for the original post, if that is worth $5000 then I'm selling my car tomorrow.
22 years old, 97K miles? Big deal! Every rubber item is probably corroded and every vinyl item is ready to fall apart.
It's got "new paint" meaning you'll probably be dealing with peeling clear in another year.

I'll sell my '91 with 157k tomorrow for $5k if someone offered. Come and get it!

It's in Cali, and if the guy isn't full of shit and it really is "MINT MINT"(IE cosmetically and maintenance is up to date, and I doubt it is) then it's not too ridiculous, e model or not. When I was looking for my car all the $2k-$4k cars were total POSs. Who knows
