I think the Momo Monte Carlo looks great. People say it blocks the gauges but there are two different sizes, the 350mm and the 320mm, so I wonder whether both block the gauges or just the smaller 320mm.

an important note is that unless you swap to a quicker e36 rack when you swap to a smaller wheel the smaller wheel will effectively slow down the steering ratio.....

I want the bigger wheel because I can't swap to a quicker steering rack in my autox class, and I don't want the steering to be any slower than it already is.

I had a MOMO Champion that was 350mm and could not see a good portion of the tops of the gauges.

I now have 365mm Nardi Blackline oem BMW wheel and it just clears the top of the gauges. Feels and looks good too... :D

Edit: Just saw that you dont like the M tech 1.. I'll get pictures of Mitch's Alpina wheel that is living in my car. That wheel is excellent, just blocks the view of the guages a bit.
i love this steering wheel the best feeling and easy 2 see the gauges..just love it

Supposedly came on some later production E30 M3's and E28 M5's as well as early production E34 M5's, but I havent confirmed that. Mine has a build date of 4/89.
Thanks for clearing that up! So how much bigger is the first mtech1?

That may be the perfect E30 wheel.

However, I bet I don't want to know what it cost. A quick google search brought up German ebay, where did you get yours?

OK so I'll ask again.......Feel free to make fun again.

How much does an MTech1 steering wheel weigh?

                          How about a Momo w/adapter?

Got this italian-made Sportline-wheel from my sisters ex this christmas. Haven´t been able to source a hub for it yet.

Should look decent with my wooden Alpina gearknob.

Heres an old pic of interior and gearknob:
