Those are absolutely not BMW M-Technic II side panels/skirts-they may be stamped BMW, but they aren't M-Technic II pieces.

The swap looks nice, but personally that car is WAY, WAY too low to the ground. That would have to be changed for a car that would be driven daily-or driven on most streets for that matter.

What do you all think about the rear? I think it may be a tad low. Is there anyway to raise it up an inch? It seems lower than the front. I think the front looks great, its the rear that is hanging into the fender area. There is a 50lb sub box in trunk that I may remove. I dont know if I should have Terry Sayther take out the rear springs to put something in that is higher. For those with the IE/Koni setup, is this a normal height? How does it perform/drive? Any real issues with roads, etc? I have a few extra says before I will head down and pick her up and I could have them redo them. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

To answer previous question, engine cost 4k shipped to Austin. It had very low miles and was still mated to the 5sp trans with all parts, etc.

The side skirts are part of the BMW Aerodynamik Kit. They are OE parts, but not M technik.

Thats cool. Terry Sayther said that they have not seen them at all here. The dealer could not get BMW to release them to the US for sale, but Bavarian Auto somehow got them imported here. That is the part number from the Mtech thread that is floating around here somewhere. So if anyone orders that part number, this is what will come (only 3 to 4 left in world inventory now). Anyway, I like them also. It makes the car unique.

You can raise the rear ride height by putting the spring pads back in if they were taken out, or by using extra-thick spring pads.

I have a few newer ones. Still a work in progress:p

                      Here are the new rims:

                      Inside shot:

                      Engine 1:

                      Engine 2:

                      Side Skirts:

She has been running great for the last few months. I have been driving every other week to work (car pooling now). My co-worker has a SLK280 and he likes the drive in my car better :). Nothing beats a good 80-90moh on tollway in the AM (we leave early to beat the rush in dallas).

Anyway, I will have some new pics of the rims on next week. I also have to get some cleaning on the engine bay and the inside done. Nothing like Texas dust to get everywhere. At least there is not a speck of rust anywhere. I'll post some more updates next week or so. Now I need an Mtech II steering wheel and a nice UUC shifter knob/boot for the inside.

Another update: I thought the ground clearance was too low.. I have been driving for a good 2-3 months and have yet hit anything (knock on some fake wood here). I may have to invest in the front oil pan skid that is on the group buy somewhere. I have to be careful on speedbumps, but the springs are pretty stiff and the roads in West Frisco/Tollway are pretty good.
